October 2022 | EOC Update
Rachel and I are beyond excited to announce that we are grandparents! Our youngest son, Joshua, and his wife, Sarah, gave birth to their daughter, Ella Joy, on Rosh Hashanah back at the end of September. It’s a new season in the Hood family, and we could not be more blessed to have such a beautiful granddaughter!
God’s timing is always better than our timing! As Rachel and I transition during this season into being grandparents, our ministry is launching a course called “Restoring the Family” on October 17th. This course is based on Malachi 4:5-6 where God promises to “turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers.” Make sure you watch the video below to hear our ministry update, which focuses on this upcoming course about family!
I have heard many prayers and sermons based around Malachi 4:5-6, but few teachings on how to practically turn our hearts to our children and practically turn our hearts to our parents. Thus, my oldest Samuel and I will be co-teaching this course with the goal of equipping both parents and children to navigate the complexities of family life, especially the teenage and young adult years.
In the end, our heart is not only to see restoration within the home, but also to help equip parents and children to build rich, long-lasting friendships. If you are interested in learning more about this course, make sure you check out the link below. Feel free to also share this with family and friends that you believe would be blessed by this discipleship resource.
Last but not least, I want to thank all of you that are praying for me as I write a book with Corey Russell called “Spiritual Friendship: The Fellowship of the Burning Heart.” If you can, please be in prayer for Corey and me. I was actually with Corey last month at the Altar Global Conference. I discussed this in the video update above, but we had a powerful time ministering together. My heart is truly touched! If you want, you can check out the message I spoke at the link below. I hope you will be encouraged by it.
Thank you again for your consistent support, prayers, and love. Rachel and I are beyond grateful for your partnership in “proclaiming the excellencies of Christ to the ends of the earth.” We truly know and believe in our hearts that the most fruitful years of ministry lay ahead in the grace of God. Thank you for all the ways you are playing a crucial part in this!
Blessings and love,
