Why This Sabbatical Matters
For more than three decades, Allen Hood has devoted his life to teaching the beauty of Jesus and serving the Church. Through preaching, writing, mentoring, and caring for leaders, he has poured himself out for the sake of others.
In recent years, that service has also included walking closely with individuals navigating painful situations involving spiritual abuse, leadership failure, and deep personal loss. These seasons have been meaningful, but they have also carried a significant weight.
After prayerful conversations with the leadership and board of Excellencies of Christ Ministries, Allen will be entering a one-year sabbatical focused on personal restoration, counseling, spiritual renewal, and caring for his family during an important season.
This is not stepping away from the mission. This is caring for the man who has carried it.
