September 2023 | EOC Update

There is nothing more beautiful than seeing followers of Jesus—men and women, young and old—experience the joy of encountering Jesus as a person. This is why Rachel and I have loved watching the television show The Chosen in recent years. It is a great gift to the Body of Christ. We highly recommend watching it if you have not yet.

Through the show, we see Jesus’ personality, relationship with others, and character displayed in a dramatic and beautiful way. It faithfully portrays the stories of Jesus in the four gospels, creatively sketching in between the lines and sparking the imagination. We were made to be fascinated by Jesus!

The Gospel of John tells us that Father loves us (John 16:27). It also proclaims that the “Father loves the Son,” (John 3:35). Just as the Father loves Jesus, we are made to love Jesus. We are made to love the Son!

This is why it has been an unbelievable joy going through Intimacy with the Son (Part 1) with several hundred students from around the world the last six weeks. When we complete it, this will be our third 40-day journey into the life of Jesus. Since 2020, over 750 students have gone through this specific course. You can read some of their powerful testimonies here. If you have a testimony yourself, we would love to hear it as well!

Please know that we are launching Intimacy with the Son (Part 2) this October 2. In this course, we will go on a 40-day journey into Jesus’ suffering and glory. We will spend three weeks diving into the story and theology of the cross. In the final three weeks of the course, we will look at Jesus’ resurrection, ascension, and second coming. I cannot wait to go on this journey with many of you!

Blessings,

Allen Hood
